GROUP MUSIC
The Fox River Academy offers Group Music learning options through our Preschool Music,
Group Strings Class, Guitar and Rock Ensembles.

Preschool Music Class
Nurture your child’s budding love for music! For our preschool-aged students ages 3-6, our Preschool Music class is an ideal starting point to create fun and useful musical foundations.
Kids have the opportunity to learn basic music concepts through sharing songs together in this teacher-led Tuesday afternoon class.

Class Date and Time: Tuesdays 5:00-5:30pm

Tuition: $8 per class- includes 11 or 12 classes each session ($88/96)

Group Strings Class
Ensemble study is an important part of a strings lesson program, and assists students in solidifying group repertoire (for book recitals, competitions/juries, and other performance opportunities) and ensemble playing in a fun, larger group setting. Group lessons also provide the student the opportunity to participate in numerous exciting group performances and field trips throughout the year.
Group classes meet weekly and parts are assigned according to the student’s level and
experience, encouraging technical skill development, repertoire review, and musical style
in a highly motivational setting. Students generally remain in the assigned group
throughout the year.

Rock Ensemble Program
Many students taking private instrument/voice lessons are ready to participate in an ensemble experience, or perhaps have played in a group before and are ready to “hone” their skills with other musicians. In our Rock Ensemble program, students perform out in various public venues with a group that is coached by an experienced teacher.
Students work together as a band on popular tunes and original works appropriate to the
instrumentation and skill level of participants. Ensembles also have the opportunity to
perform at many community events and locations throughout the year.
The program is open to ALL instruments and voice ages 9 through adult. Students
need the minimum of 1 year of study on their instrument(s) to participate.

Tuition: $180 per quarter

Guitar Ensemble
Enjoy exploring and performing multi-part music with other guitarists in a group setting! Our Guitar Ensemble performs throughout the year in various community events and venues.

Pre-requisite: At least one year of guitar lessons (or contact instructor for
special permission)
Class Date and Time: Saturday afternoons (call for availability)

Tuition: $120 per quarter
